I think

There is divine power in bird  Chatak.

But the bird  is also not free from desire.

There is no living being in 

this world without desire.

The desire of Chatak 

to drink the nectar of rain

otherwise stays thirsty 

does not accept any other water.

The bird looking at the Amber 

with enchanted 

eyes .

When will the clouds of Swati nakshatra burst?   

The thirsty bird  keep its beak wide open

and eagerly wait for the dark clouds 

to quench his thirst?

The thirsty bird is suffering like 

a passionate lover feel miserable without his beloved.

His heart is gloomy his lips are dry his body is inactive.

The melody of love song was playing in his mind

But the words flew like a kite in the wind.

Love tears were flowing on his cheeks

When will the thirst of his depressed 

heart be quenched?

The anxious bird also waited for the rain.

When nectar drop will quench my thirst 

and soak my dry throat?

मन कहता 

चातक पक्षी में है दिव्य शक्ति।

किन्तु अभिलाषा से विमुक्त वह भी नहीं ।    

चाहत बिना इस दुनिया में कोई जीव नहीं।    

चातक की चाहत पीना वर्षा का अमृत जल। 

प्यासा रहता ख़ास वर्षा जल छोड़कर 

नहीं ग्रहण करता अन्य जल।

मन्त्र मुग्ध निगाहों से पक्षी देख रहा अम्बर की ओर 

स्वाति के बादल कब छम छम जल बरसायेंगे 

चोंच खोल कर विकल पक्षी सोच रहा मँडराते 

काले बादल कब उसकी प्यास बुझायेंगे?   

खुली हुई है चातक की चोंच प्यासा तरस रहा 

शायद सोच रहा अगर खुली रहेगी चोंच तो सीधा 

जल मुँह में जाकर बुझा देगा उसकी तृष्ष्णा।

आकुल व्याकुल प्यासा पक्षी ऐसे तड़प रहा  

जैसे अधीर प्रेमी तड़पता अपनी प्रेमिका बिना  

अनमना है दिल होंठ गये सूख शुष्क हो रहा बदन 

मन में बज रही थी प्रेम गीत की धुन

पतंग की तरह हवा में उड़ गये शब्द।     

प्रेम के आँसुओं की लग गयी झड़ी 

नीरस मन की प्यास कब बुझेगी?   

व्यग्र पक्षी भी करता प्रतीक्षा वर्षा की।

कब अमृत बूँद तरल करेगी मेरा कंठ।
